Tamalpais Shambhala Council Contacts
The Rigden king manifests wrathfully, but his armor is always gold, an expression of compassion. His sword represents the incisive wisdom that sees basic goodness. There are pennants on his helmet, which symbolize the courage it takes to bring windhorse—long life, good health, success, and happiness—to others. After the victory of the Rigdens, the story goes, the age of enlightenment arises. The Great Eastern Sun appears on the horizon.

Ruling Your World: Ancient Strategies for Modern Life
The vision of Shambhala is that we are not only a spiritual community but a family clan committed to creating enlightened society. The Shambhala community is organized as a mandala, a circular framework that connects the teachers and teachings with the community of practitioners. Shambhala is a form of sacred secular government at whose center are the king and queen of Shambhala, in this case Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche and his wife Khandro Tseyang.
One aspect of that beloved community expresses itself through working together in the administration, development and nourishment of this meditation center, its members, friends and visitors, and the local community.
Leadership of our Shambhala Meditation Group is through a Shambhala Council whose members are listed below and who are dedicated to working with each other, our members, friends and others in a gentle and fearless manner. They also collaborate with the regional governance of Northern California Shambhala, whose governance structure reflects the leadership mandala of Shambhala.
In this way, our local leadership seeks out mentoring guidance from more senior leaders, teachers and practitioners within the region as well as consultation with our Tamalpais community.
Our Tamalpais Shambhala Council members are committed to creating enlightened society, here and now,
and to uphold and propagate the vision of Shambhala. Council meetings are held regularly and are open to members. Meeting minutes and financial reports are also available to members on request.
If you have questions or concerns, please make them heard by contacting the appropriate person.
